Of all the thee column WordPress themes that I have used for blogbased income sites, Xeiro is one of the best.
Very sober and aesthetically pleasing, the sidebars have been designed in a tasteful manner. You can introduce headings if you wish and they appear in reverse against a pleasing background.
All your Google ads and other advertisements can be placed in the left and right columns without becoming intrusive.
This is a widget-enabled theme, and I strongly urge you to use widget for all customization. This will create a good appearance, and it will also ensure that all ads will be seen on any other widget-enabled 3-column theme that you might change to in future.
The header is picture 899 pixels long and you can replace it with any picture of that length (and any breadth of your choice). The theme is also rugged.

3 Column: Downtown Java
Of the best WordPress themes — suitable for income-generating blogs — available free for cost, the 3-column Downtown Java is my all-time favorite.
This is a simple 3-column theme. There are no bells and whistles, yet it looks aesthetically very pleasing because of the single graphics on right top plus the very pleasing color combination.
The theme is widget-enabled and is very easy to set up. What is more, you can customize it with a little bit of tweaking the code — as has been done on www.Guide4Income.com blog.
The simple theme does not distract your reader from the advertisements that can be placed in the left as well as in the right columns. Click-through rates tend to be high, and that is why we use this theme.
